What are Student Equity Gaps?

  • Equity gaps are understood as differences in outcomes that arise from deeply embedded societal inequities that shape an individual’s trajectories and experiences.
  • Engagement is the degree to which students are actively involved in their learning and connected with faculty, staff, other students, and available programs and resources. Engagement metrics will be constructed from student surveys (e.g., UCUES). Outcome metrics of particular interest include GPA, four-year graduation rates, and transitions to graduate school or career post-completion.
